Approximately 18 percent of American children and 14 percent of Canadian children live in poverty. 1 Many low-income families have scarce resources to cover even the most basic essentials. These members of our community need help to provide the vital necessity of a winter coat.
The Knights of Columbus launched the Coats for Kids program to ensure that every child in need would have access to a warm winter coat. Since the program started in 2009, councils have purchased and distributed more than 500,000 new winter coats to children throughout North America.
The Notre Dame Council is working towards a goal of $6000.00 to purchase new winter coats to distribute within our community to needy children. We have several programs on their way and several more in the works. Check back here often to see how you can help.
Your generous donation will provide a warm winter coat to someone in need. 100% of your contribution will go directly towards purchasing a coat, making a real difference in someone’s life.
If you want to donate to Coats for Kids through a check or money order, please make it out to the Knights of Columbus Notre Dame Council 3021 and write “Coats for Kids” in the memo line.
